What does the peptide calculator do?
After reconstituting a peptide with bacteriostatic water you need to know how many units to draw up on the insulin syringe to hit your target dose. That is exactly what this tool computes: from vial strength (mg), water volume (ml) and target dose (mcg) it derives the number of units on a U-100, U-50 or U-30 syringe, including concentration (mcg/ml) and the number of doses per vial. What is reconstitution?
Dissolving the freeze-dried (lyophilised) peptide with bacteriostatic water so it can be drawn up and injected.
What do the units on the insulin syringe mean?
A U-100 syringe has 100 units per 1 ml (1 unit = 0.01 ml). The calculator tells you which unit mark to draw up to in order to reach your target dose.
How are mg and mcg related?
1 mg equals 1000 mcg. Vial strengths are usually given in mg, doses in mcg.
Which syringe size should I use?
U-100 (1 ml), U-50 (0.5 ml) or U-30 (0.3 ml). Smaller syringes show small doses more precisely; the calculator adjusts the scale automatically.
